Role Overview

The Entry-Level Cloud Engineer will join our dynamic team to assist in the deployment, management, and optimization of cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role is designed for a highly motivated individual eager to build a career in cloud computing, contributing to the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of organization’s cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in deploying, configuring, and managing core AWS services such as Amazon EC2 instances, Amazon S3 buckets, and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) components.
• Support the day-to-day operations of AWS cloud environments, including monitoring resource utilization and performance using Amazon CloudWatch and responding to basic alerts.
• Learn and apply fundamental cloud networking concepts within AWS, including VPCs, subnets, routing tables, and security groups, to ensure secure and efficient connectivity.
• Begin to learn and assist with automation efforts using the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), basic Python scripting (e.g., Boto3), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation.
• Perform initial diagnosis and troubleshooting of common issues related to AWS cloud resources and services, escalating complex problems to senior engineers.
• Develop an understanding of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and assist in implementing basic security best practices for cloud resources.
• Contribute to maintaining clear and concise documentation of cloud configurations, operational procedures, and incident reports.
• Actively collaborate with senior Cloud Engineers and other IT teams, seeking guidance and participating in continuous learning initiatives to enhance cloud expertise.

Requirements Skills

• Foundational understanding of Windows Server and common Linux distributions (e.g., Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat), including command-line operations and file system navigation.
• Basic understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems as they apply to cloud instances (e.g., managing virtual servers).
• Basic knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including IP addressing, subnets, security groups, and routing.
• Familiarity with command-line interfaces (CLI) and a strong willingness to learn scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for cloud automation. Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts.
• Ability to follow structured troubleshooting methodologies for cloud resources and connectivity issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cloud Computing, or a closely related technical field.
• Entry-level position; Fresher – 2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or relevant internships with exposure to cloud technologies. Demonstrable personal projects involving AWS are a significant plus.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect, Associate certification is a plus.
